Shenia began practicing law in 1999, after graduating with highest honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and subsequently from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, School of Law. In law school, Shenia served as managing editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.

Shenia’s legal career began as an Associate at one of Atlanta’s largest law firms, Troutman Sanders LLP. A few years later, Shenia was lured away from practicing at a law firm to serve corporate clients as an in-house corporate attorney. Later, in the spirit of entrepreneurism, Shenia later founded Coleman Kirkland Law Group, LLC, through which she provided legal consulting services, served as Counsel Ad Interim, and/or provided general counsel services to corporate clients ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to small start-up companies.

In November 2014, Shenia joined the Vonage Law Department as Senior Marketing & Commercial Counsel. Shenia leads the legal team responsible for supporting the Vonage marketing team. This entails not only reviewing customer facing marketing materials, but also drafting and negotiating marketing related agreements and advising on compliance and other legal issues. In addition, Shenia is a member of the Vonage Commercial Law team, which enables Sales by both drafting deal agreements and providing creative solutions for an array of legal matters.

Outside of the office, Shenia is a voracious reader. She also enjoys painting, traveling, watching University of Michigan football games (Go Blue!), and spending time with her family. In addition, Shenia is an avid writer who is currently working on both a novel and a screenplay.
